SJ Anderson (they/them) is a second-generation Malay American graphic designer and illustrator. Drawing inspiration from their own life, SJ’s work is a blend of identity exploration, punk values, surreal escapism, and fantasy. They are known for their design work for Austin indie theatre companies like Bottle Alley Theatre and Dirty Gold Theatre, as well as their work for Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas.
SJ’s work has been published in the Austin Chronicle, and their posters can be found plastered around Austin. Their work at Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas has been distributed nationwide and featured in prominent places like Fenway Park in Boston and The View.
